Welcome to Our Home!

We hope you have a wonderful stay. Below are some helpful notes to make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Grocery Delivery

Save time by having your groceries delivered directly to the fridge before you arrive or while you're out. Our friends at Stocked can take care of this for you!

Lighting & Smart Home Features

  • No need to turn off lights individually—wall switches control all lights.

  • The house is a Smart Home with Alexa voice controls:

    • "Alexa, turn on all lights 100%."

    • "Alexa, turn off all lights."

    • "Alexa, turn on/off (outside lights, bathroom, bedroom, etc.)."

  • Some lights have a nightlight setting and won’t turn off completely (e.g., bathroom and kitchen sink).

WiFi Login

  • Network Name: prettyflyforawifi

  • Password: giveittomebaby
    (We’re fans of the ‘90s band The Offspring—sorry! 😆)

Troubleshooting: Charter internet can be glitchy. If you have WiFi but no internet, reset the router using the plug located by the downstairs laundry. Let us know if you need help!

TV & Streaming Services

  • Use the remote for most operations.

  • Netflix, Hulu, and Prime are provided. Press the Netflix button on the remote to access.

  • Feel free to log into your own accounts, but please log out before leaving.

Outdoor Activities & Rentals

  • TART Trail & eBikes: TC eBikes (on Carter Rd) is within walking distance. The TART Trail is 0.25 miles away.

  • Beach Essentials: Towels, snorkel gear, coolers, and toys are in the entryway closet.

  • Best Beaches:

    1. Maple Bay Natural Area (East Bay)

    2. Haserot Beach (Old Mission)

    3. Good Harbor

    4. Port Oneida Beach

    • The closest beach is a .5 mile walk to West Bay.

Boating & Water Sports

  • Kayaks & SUPs: TC Paddle offers hourly ($30) and daily rentals ($100).

  • If you’re near West Bay, let us know—we may have SUPs available for half-price rentals.

  • Boat Rentals: Pontoons, jet skis, and powerboats are available for rent. Tall Ship Manitou and The Nauticat are great tour options.

Security & Privacy

  • We own other properties in the cul-de-sac, but we won’t be on-site during your stay.

  • Cameras are only on exterior entrances/exits.

  • The neighborhood is safe, but we recommend locking your car doors.

  • Don’t want Alexa? Just unplug the devices. If Alexa turns yellow, say “Alexa, what’s my notification?” to clear it.

Quiet Hours

Please respect our neighbors: 10 PM – 7 AM. Have fun, but keep it respectful! 😊

Trash & Recycling

  • Trash bins are in the kitchen and a bin by the garage.

  • We strongly support recycling, but guests must take their recyclables to the recycling center on E Cherry Bend Rd (1.6 miles away).

Drinking Water

  • Our home is on a well—safe to drink but not great-tasting.

  • Filtered drinking water (reverse osmosis) is available at the kitchen sink. ** PLEASE FILL WATER OVER THE SINK TO AVOID WATER DAMAGE **

Kitchen & Cooking Supplies

  • The kitchen is fully stocked with oils, spices, salt, and pepper.

  • Do not cut or prep food on the butcher block countertops—use the cutting boards above the fridge.

Bedding & Extra Pillows

  • Extra pillows and blankets are in each bedroom closet.

  • Commands:

    • "Alexa, play white noise."

    • "Alexa, play meditation music."

    • "Alexa, connect my phone." (for Bluetooth)
